Grand Manan Island Travel Guide
Welcome to Grand Manan Island!
Grand Manan Island, the largest island in the Bay of Fundy, is located just off the southernmost tip of New Brunswick and the west coast of Maine. It is a short 1.5-hour ferry ride from Blacks Harbour, New Brunswick, the only public transportation access to the island. Although Grand Manan Island is only 28 km (17 mi) long and 12 km (7.5 mi) wide, its location and its stretches of shoreline make it a haven for whale-watchers, bird-watchers and naturalists alike. Parks such as Hole-in-the-Wall Park and Anchorage Provincial Park offer sandy beaches, whale-watching opportunities, scenic rock formations, hiking trails and a migratory bird sanctuary. Enjoy all that summer in Grand Manan has to offer at the Grand Manan Rotary Festival, visit Swallowtail Lighthouse, the oldest active lighthouse on Grand Manan Island and take in the history of the area at the Grand Manan Museum and Grand Manan Whale and Seabird Research Station.
